Telling the centre your child will be absent
In the app: open Today and tap "[Your child]'s not coming in today?". Pick the day, add a reason if you'd like to, and send it.
You can report today or any future day. You can't report a past day — correcting attendance history is a conversation with your centre, not something to do by yourself.
What happens next, said plainly: your report is a message, not a switch. It tells the centre what you expect; it doesn't mark your child absent on its own, and staff still confirm what actually happened. You'll see it change to seen by the centre once a member of staff has actually looked at it — and not a moment before. If it still says submitted, nobody has read it yet.
So if the absence matters today — an illness, a change of plan at the door — phone the centre as well. The report is the record; the phone call is how you know somebody knows.
You can withdraw a report you've already sent, from the same place.
Two things it will refuse, and why:
- Your child is already checked in for that date. Somebody has already brought them in. Talk to the room.
- A report already exists for that date. Withdraw the existing one first, then send a new one.
Did this solve it?
